Mezcal Lajita is a classic smoky & earthy Mezcal from Mexico's Licores Veracruz. Triple-distilled & aged in oak for five+ months, each bottle contains an agave worm. Awarded 'Best in USA Market' in 1997, it's made w/ techniques of XVIth century Conquistadors. 5-step process inc. culture, cook, pound, ferment, & distill. Domestic Mezcal (unlike Tequila) is twice-distilled; for export, Lajita is thrice-distilled & matured 3+ mos. Very clear, pale gold. Smokey, agave, vanilla aroma. Flavors of agave, smoke, slight sweetness, & heat. Finish: subtle woody smoke taste.
